MANILA, Philippines — The Miss Thailand candidate to the 65th Miss Universe, Chalita Suansane, is once again in the country to promote tourism in her country.
Chalita, a Miss Universe competition crowd favorite, returned to the Philippines as Thailand’s tourism ambassador. She attended the 24th PTAA Travel Tour Expo at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay to call on foreigners to visit Thailand. She was warmly welcomed by her Filipino fans.
On her Instagram, Chalita posted a photo of her with her Filipino fans.
“This is for you, @philippines. I love you. Thank You to so many all over for the support me. I wanted to make you smile at Philippines,” she wrote.

After Chalita posted a photo of her wearing a barong tagalog-inspired attire and a viral photo of her with 17 suitcases, Filipinos started to notice her and became one of the crowd favorites at the pageant held in the country.
Chalita made it to the Miss Universe 2016’s Top 6 like the Philippine bet Maxine Medina. The Thai beauty queen also topped the pageant’s online voting.
