BACOLOD CITY , Philippines – An Australian poultry farm operator was reportedly stabbed dead by his employee during a quarrel in Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental on Saturday.
Warren Gil, 74, was declared dead on arrival at the Valeriano Gatuslao Memorial District Hospital due to a stab wound in the chest.
Police have launched a manhunt for the suspect, identified as Robert Flores, 20, of Kabankalan City.
Flores and his fellow farm worker were about to sleep in their quarters in Barangay To-oy when Gil reportedly barged in and confronted the suspect on matters involving his job, said Chief Inspector Antonio Benitez, city police chief.
Probers are looking into allegations that Gil threatened to dismiss Flores, who reportedly pulled out a bladed weapon and stabbed his employer.
